Pole-structure high ropes course - the original method for constructing a high ropes course. Practically every high ropes course was erected in this manner up to five years ago. Solid timber poles are anchored in concrete foundations. The individual poles are then harnessed together and to the ground. Different elements and safety systems can then be constructed between the poles. This pole structure is still a popular solution where courses are constructed on a particular site without a suitable stock of trees, or where the operator is bound to a particular location.
A further major advantage is the greater flexibility when designing the course, as the need to give consideration to living trees is dispensed with. This greater flexibility is also reflected in the lower level of maintenance required. These pole-harnessed course were designed in a very sterile manner in the past, often bearing more the appearance of tennis courts than an actual forest. The Cambium GmbH team developed a special method in this respect which combines the advantages of a pole-structure high ropes course with those of a natural climbing park. However, guests still have the feeling of swinging from tree to tree in a pole-structured course of this nature. |
